Letter: Jared Golden will protect personal freedom for everyone

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These were declared unalienable rights endowed to all people and upheld by our Constitution. Yet, women are again having to fight for the right to manage our own bodies. It is appalling that our politicians would push abortion bans on victims of rape and incest.
When Austin Theriault says he is putting people over politics, I can’t help but wonder if this includes all the people. Women want to know, because I think his voting record says otherwise.
Thankfully, leaders like Rep. Jared Golden care about our freedoms, including our reproductive rights. The Women’s Health Protection Act would restore what we lost when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Jared voted for it twice and I am confident he will keep fighting for women and families to keep the government out of our business.
A vote for Jared Golden is a vote to protect the freedoms of all citizens.
